The Colne Valley Railway

The Colne Valley Railway (CVR) was a major feature of the Halstead and surrounding area between 1860 and 1965. It initially ran from Chappel to Halstead and was extended in stages until it eventually reached Haverhill.

The following pictures show the CVR during various stages of it’s existence. Some of the railways buildings are still visible today.
